I’ve spent a lot of time imagining stuff.

But I never imagined a job that would let me do it every day. So I’m pretty grateful to be doing what I’ve always wanted to do. Even if I didn't always realise it was a thing.

These days I’m a Creative Director at Ogilvy Sydney and I’ve been working in advertising for over 15 years. In that time I’ve grown, learned, and won awards. I think I’ve almost got a hundred of them now. From Cannes Lions to a Spikes PR Grand Prix. There’s even a Webby for viral films in there somewhere. And I’m pretty proud of the Global Grand Effie for KFC. Not because it sounds epic, but because it’s nice to build ideas that come with a killer result for clients.

I also get a lot of joy helping creatives be better creatives. I’ve been an AWARD School tutor, an AWARD School judge and I guest lecture at Western Sydney University.

I’m also massively into music. I’ve been playing some kind of instrument since I was 4 years old (thanks Mum!). I’m a bit of a book nerd. And I’m really into food. If you couldn’t already tell from the KFC campaigns.

Hit me up on LinkedIn if you want to chat creativity, or if you just want to share a sweet new album.

Some nice things people are saying.

"Imagine all the beams and elements that come together to make and support the Eiffel tower. Now imagine them as a human being. It’s Blake Arthur."

— Claudia Williams

“Blake taught me the three most important rules of advertising:

1. Always push your ideas as far as they’ll go.

2. Never reveal everything you know.

3…”

— Baxter Atkins

“Blake is an ideas machine. But, unlike other machines, he has a heart and passion that makes working with him an absolute pleasure.”

— Clark Edwards
